Shea butter is fat obtained from the nuts of the shea tree and has an off-white or ivory colour, solid at warm temperatures. It contains a high concentration of vitamins (A, E and F) and fatty acids including linoleic, oleic, stearic and palmitic acids. The fatty acids create is moisturising effects and absorbs into hair follicles. This joint with its easy-to-spread consistency makes it a great product for smoothing, soothing and conditioning your hair and skin (without making your skin oily). It’s appropriate for nearly any skin type. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can help minimise skin conditions such as eczema.

Castor oil – This beauty is one of my favourite oils for hair growth, especially in maintaining a thick and full hairline. It is extracted from castor seeds and rich in antioxidants. It also contains Vitamin E, proteins and Omega 6&9 which are the main bases of this oil that helps to stimulates faster hair growth. It helps in the reduction of hair fall and helps to fight scalp issues such as dandruff. Castor oil is also known for its anti-bacterial properties. It is often described as “the elixir for beautiful hair and supple skin”

Jojoba oil – This oil is the closest to the oil produced by the human skin called ‘sebum’. Jojoba is the closest natural addition/replacement to your natural body oils to help protect and heal the skin from toxins. It contains vitamins for skin such as B, E and key minerals such as zinc and copper. For hair, this oil is great for strengthening the hair follicles on the scalp which promotes hair growth. Your hair will grow healthier and stronger. The presence of the vitamins helps to condition the hair making it shinier, as well as adding volume and thickness.

Kalahari Melon Seed Oil – this is great for moisturising, reconstructing and regenerating. It is an excellent source of vitamin E for your hair and skin. It is also high in Omega 6, essential fatty acids and phytosterols.

Coconut oil – this is amazing at helping your hair keep it protein. Its main makeup is of a medium-chain fatty acid called lauric acid giving coconut oil a long, straight structure. This structure allows your hair shaft to soak it up more easily.

Homemade Aloe Vera Oil – This is made up of aloe vera, avocado butter and olive oil. Aloe vera is well known for its healing qualities for the skin. Its gel contains many nutrients,96% water, some organic and inorganic compounds, a type of protein which contains 18 of the 20 amino acids found in the body and lastly, Vitamin A, B, C and E. It’s used to treat dry skin in many Ayurvedic practices. For hair, Aloe vera contains something called proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny. It promotes hair growth, prevents itching on the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair.

Sweet Almond Oil – This helps to soften hair as its an emollient. Over time you will begin to notice that your hair is softer, it easier to comb through and style.

Baobab Oil, Rosemary Oil, Avocado Oil, Wheatgerm Oil, Chamomile Oil, Lemon tea tree oil, Vitamin E Oil and Vegetable Glycerin also included in this product for the properties of keeping hair moisturised and scalp clean.

As a natural with low porosity hair and scalp issues, creating this butter for my hair and subsequently using it for my dry skin has improved my hair growth greatly. And this is why I wanted to share this product with you.

For a healthy hair journey, let us keep it raw and keep going fourth”. -Fourth & Raw
